Throwing Something Together

I had been running all morning and it was time to pick up Whitney from work.  I knew she'd be hungry for lunch.  Many times in the past I've stopped at McDonald's and picked up some nuggets and fries, but since I found out what actually goes into a McNugget, I won't do it!  I wanted to come home and eat, so we could stick to our whole foods diet.  We walked in but I had no plan.  So I improvised!  I opened a can of pinto beans.  Whitney loves them and I figured I could flavor them up somehow. … [Read more...]

Wedding Planning: Escort Cards

I'm so excited to be able to check something off of my to-do list!  Yesterday, Carl and I put together the escort (seating) cards display for Suzette and Timothy's wedding reception!  Escort cards contain the names of guests along with a table number where they should be seated.  Here's a sneak peek for those of you coming to the wedding... it will probably have different flowers on it, but you get the idea! One day I was home alone … [Read more...]

Because your body does not have to digest the juice (since the fiber is gone) it can go straight to the cells where it can benefit your health in many ways.  I thought I'd share my process of making juice this morning!   Here's our juicer! It's an Omega VRT 330HD.  It's one of the best juicers on the market today.  And here's what I juiced: carrots, celery, … [Read more...]

Raw Salad Dressing = YUM-O

I haven't even tried this yet, but I can just tell it's delicious.  I'll be making this VERY soon. He's using a Vitamix blender, which is very expensive, but don't be afraid to try it in a regular blender.   And just so you'll know... Nama Shoyu is raw soy sauce, and it's SO yummy. Whitney prefers the taste over any other soy sauce or tamari we've had.   All of the unfamiliar products he mentions can be found at a good health food store or online. Look how easy it is to make a super … [Read more...]
