Richmond Symphony Youth Orchestra

During Suzette’s senior year of high school, she played flute in the Richmond Symphony Youth Concert Orchestra.  It was a rich and valuable experience for her, and we so enjoyed going to the concerts!  There are many songs I could share, but I chose two.  Ashokan Farewell, which was the song used as the title theme of the 1990 PBS miniseries, The Civil War.  It’s a beautiful piece that begins with a solo violin, and gradually builds to the entire orchestra.  The second piece is Hungarian Dance No. 5.  You’ll probably recognize it!  The recordings are live concert performances.  Listen and enjoy :)

God’s Word

Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. --Jeremiah 6:16
